History
The history of Rubin FC begins in the 40s of the XX century, when a football team based on the airplanes plant was created. In 1948 that team as the first of all teams in our republic began to take part in championships of RSFUR (Russia).
The teams name had to be changed very often because the factory it based on was a military object, firstly it was Komanda Leninskogo Rajona (Team of Lenin district) , then Krilja Sovetov (Soviet Wings) and after the all Iskra (Spark). However that didnt affect the results which the team had demonstrated: in the 1948 1957 period they three times won the third place, and twice the sixth in the Volga district of RSFUR championship. In 1956 team had only the 9th place.
In 1949 Dinamo (main Kazans team of that period) team was tumbled down. Kazan had no team in the Soviet Union championships till the 1958 year. In 1958 Iskra (Spark) FC started in the B class. This date is official clubs date of birth. Kazan had a new team!
In 1964 the name was changed to Rubin. New name was lucky in 1965 Rubin won the right to play in the A class.
Since 2003 "Rubin" plays in Russian Premier-League. In the first season in the Premier-League "Rubin" FC won bronze medals - best result in all its histoty!
